open4energy is pleased to announce the launch of our new discussion forum on Home DIY solar energy.
The opening article is a Solar Energy Guide for consumers first considering solar energy. It is a joint publication of open4energy and Solar Man Dan a licensed contractor and NABCEP-certified solar installer.
With the number of DIY self styled plans for building solar energy panels pervading the Internet we believe that this is a much-needed entrant from a real professional in the industry.
The complete list of energy saving scams continues to grow daily.
We are also pleased to announce our partnership with http://scamraiders.com who will be hosting the ongoing end-user discussions on energy saving scams.
The press release by WebWire has more information on the announcement.

Google Energy Subsidiary
It was brought to my attention today, I have been asleep!
Google to apply for subsidiary to participate in delivery of electricity. On the face it, it might make sense? They use a lot of electricity so are allowed to care about it. But hold on a moment, is this all about green? If they cut their bill by 50%, would that be material to their business.
I am not one to question motives, but when a body who already controls the information I read, applies to manage the electricity I get - I wonder?
"Google Energy" Subsidiary: What's Google Up To?
Read what we have to say at open4energy, and what many have to say at earth2tech.

KVAR - Negligible Consumer Savings
It is not my place or intention to harm another business. As I have said earlier, I have not used a KVAR power factor unit, my information is based on professional opinion and the science of power factor correction.
In addition, it is possible - in fact probable - that there are some homes which have the type of heavy motors which which require power factor correction to reduce line resistance costs.
But, I urge all consumers to understand that the savings will most probably be Nil. In fact you energy could go up if your unit remains on while the motors are idle.
This KVAR Energy Controller review includes opinions from others. We are not alone in our view!

List of Energy Monitors
A short reminder that we have renamed our list of home energy saving devices in order to separate home energy saving from home energy monitoring.
The new list called complete list of home energy monitors only includes devices that monitor. If they have the capability to act on what they monitor, they are considered a saving device.
As an aside, we thank SPlat controls for their help is promoting our work on power factor correction.

Free Energy Plans
Readers, there is only one way to say this - scam scam scam and scam
Yes there are a few honest scientists investigating renewable energy, but you will not find them at the top of a Google search.
We have posted a copy of a great article Free Energy Devices which clearly lists what to be looking for to spot the scam.
On lists again, we have added a third list of energy saving .... to our lists. It is called a Complete List of Home Energy Control Systems.
